Since beginning of time, men have always in different ways competed in who the strongest man really is. Strongman Super Series is the tour of several Grand Prix competitions, spread over a period of time, that every year truly decides who the strongest man in the world really is. These super-athletes are many times stronger than any gladiator. These super-athletes are simply the strongest human beings on earth.

The Grand Prix Final in Hawaii is the last chance for the world’s top ranked super-athletes to collect Super Series 2002 points. Grand Prix events already completed are Stockholm (Sweden) and Aberdeen (Scotland). Before the Hawaii Grand Prix, Hugo Girard (Canada) and Svend Karlsen (Norway) tie the lead in the overall Super Series standings with 11 points each, followed by Zydrunas Savickas (Lithuania) and Janne Virtanen (Finland), 4 points each; Martin Muhr (Germany) and Brian Schoonveld (USA), 3 points each; Mariusz Pudzianowski (Poland) and Odd Haugen (Norway), 2 points each; and Anders Johansson (Sweden) and Jaroslaw Dymek (Poland), 1 point each. The World Champion 2001, Magnus Samuelsson (Sweden), can not compete due to surgery to his arm.

The super-athletes will compete in six extreme strongman disciplines, each of them extraordinary feats of strength; Log Lift, Tire Flip, Farmer´s Walk, Super Yoke, Cruisefix Hold and Front Squats. The athletes receive points based on placement in each discipline and the score is tallied up at the end presenting the winner of the Grand Prix. Super Series points are awarded to the Top 10 athletes to be added to their overall Super Series final standing of 2002.

Strongman Super Series is since 2001 the official world tour where the best of the best, the strongest of the strongest and the biggest of the biggest in the world, are competing head to head and shoulder to shoulder, during the entire year. The leader in the overall Super Series standings after the Hawaii Grand Prix will be awarded the official title “IFSA World Champion 2002”.

The Hawaii Grand Prix Final will be featured on TV-channels world wide, including Eurosport. The potential TV-audience is over 300 million viewers represented in over 50 different countries.

Strongman Super Series is sanctioned by the International Federation of Strength Athletes (IFSA) and organised by World Class International as the tour promoter.
